Amanda Vaught, PsyD
PSYCHOLOGIST, SHE/HER/HERS
Licensed Clinical Psychologist: XXX, authorized to provide teletherapy in 41 states and the District of Columbia through PSYPACT.
I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices with deep respect for each person’s unique strengths, lived experiences, and values. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and patterns with openness and curiosity. Together, we identify meaningful goals and develop practical skills that foster resilience, self-trust, and lasting change. I tailor treatment to meet you where you are, ensuring that therapy feels aligned with your needs, values, and goals.
My clinical work includes specialized treatment for trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), borderline personality disorder, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), along with diagnosis-specific approaches such as exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE) for PTSD.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Villanova University, completed post-baccalaureate training at Stanford University’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Clinic, and received my doctorate from the PGSP–Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. I completed both my predoctoral and postdoctoral residencies within the VA Healthcare System.
In addition to my clinical practice, I work as a national consultant supporting mental health professionals in advancing their skills in trauma-informed care, with a particular focus on CPT and PE. My professional background includes serving as Director and Assistant Director of a psychology internship program, being a founding member and team leader of a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program, and holding a current adjunct faculty position at Villanova University.
